About this listen
We've all heard so much about the killers who grab the front pages, the ones whose crimes are so appalling that they exert a strange fascination on many people. But we rarely get to hear about what these people are like behind the headlines. Until now, that is.
Criminologist Christopher Berry-Dee goes behind bars to get the last word from some of the worst criminals in the world. They speak of their violence and shocking deeds in their own words, from within some of the hardest prisons on earth.
These interviews have been collated into this disturbing and unflinching analysis of the criminal mind. Here is what happens when you meet the people most of us know only from our nightmares and newspaper headlines.
These are the killers' stories, in their words.
Be prepared for a journey into the darkest possible side of human nature.

Well, no, he doesn't. I'm 5 chapters in and so far there's nothing I don't know about this case from TV already.
The odd sentence from legal statements made doesn't cut it as getting the last words from the criminals.
Entirely unimpressed.

AThe "style" is 'tabloid-sensationalist', and the grammar is woeful.
The narration (gleeful English chap) doesn't match the subject matter. The narrator mispronounces many, many words.
Avoid.

Beside the preppy cheery British reader would suit better reading a fantasy novel than tales of torture, there's a lot off with this one.
the stories is told, but more exploitative than a try to bringing anything new to the table. the few time he points and say that this is new info never told before it's seldom anything of significance.
two other examples of the more problematic trends in the book:.
The casual use of the word "hooker" when the author himself is discussing murdered sex workers and sex slaves alike.
The author giving detailed descriptions of murdered or soon to be murdered women's body without no legitimate reason.
don't buy. there's nothing here that you haven't seen.
I should like it. But I don't

The story doesn’t make up for it either, nothing you wouldn’t get from a free podcast, not really much information about actually meeting serial killers. Overall I’d avoid this one, there are better things to spend your credits on
Poor Narration choice and lacklustre story

The narrator’s voice is fine, but is an odd choice for the subject matter. Rather too sing-songy for describing horrific murders.
Didn’t finish
