About this listen

An incredible spy thriller with a twist you won’t see coming, this is the brilliant conclusion to Alex Gerlis' masterful Richard Prince spy thrillers, perfect for fans of John le Carré and Alan Furst.

British agent Richard Prince and the Danish spy Hanne Jakobsen come together for a vital mission: to find a Nazi war criminal responsible for the murder of fellow British agents. The hunt takes them on a perilous journey through Europe, a continent living on its nerves in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. They unearth a secret Nazi escape line funded by British traitors - and it’s one which could lead them to Hitler’s trusted deputy, Martin Bormann But when the Americans become involved, it is no longer certain who’s on which side. Help might come in unlikely places. Can justice be found against the odds...or are they too late?

I’ve greatly enjoyed the full series of books in only 7 days!…. Enough said I think.

Great audio book and so well read. Absolutely loved this book as it spanned not just the war years but some time afterwards.

Brilliant suspension

Once again a good yarn spoilt by atrocious phrasing of the narrator. I have persevered through this series hoping for improvement through practice only to be disappointed.

The narrator needs lessons in reading .

Really enjoyed it driving around in the car, no a classic but worth a listen

Good when you get into it!

I have listened to a number of this authors book. Not one of his best story lines.

Not his best

Another cracker from Gerlis spoiled by the robo-narration of Bush. I only continue to listen to them because of the stories but the narrator gets in the way. He must realise he has stumbled but CBA to re-record. Does the publisher read these reviews?

Narrator is in the wrong job

Great twists and turns, believed in the characters. It was backed up chronologically with history of the time and was in context. Edge of your seats and a good complex story line.

Great twists and backed up with historical events. Edge of your seats stuff.

Final book of 4 and every bit as good as previous 3. A wonderful series of WW2 spy books although the era doesn’t really matter they are simply intriguing and exciting stories from start to finish.

Great plots! Easy and enjoyable listen.

I can only suggest that this book is re-recorded with a competent narrator. I persevered to the end, but I'm sure that many didn't. The author has the right to be very annoyed!

Good story but awful narration.

Cliched, dis jointed and the performance notchy and unnatural. Read more like a statement. I realised early on but gave it several chapters

Not for me
