Sandra Flemming, Managerin des Higher Barton Romantic Hotel in Cornwall, freut sich auf das Weihnachtsfest, welches mit einer großen Feier in ihrem ausgebuchten Haus begangen werden soll. Selbst ihre Eltern aus Schottland wollen kommen. Dass kurz vor dem Fest ein Doppelmörder aus dem Gefängnis flieht, bekommt Sandra nur am Rande mit.
Doch dann überschlagen sich die Ereignisse: Der Flüchtige tötet erneut, ein Freund von Sandra entgeht nur knapp einem Anschlag, eine ihrer Mitarbeiterinnen verschwindet, und ein Dieb scheint sein Unwesen im Hotel zu treiben. Sandra kommt dem Doppelmörder auf die Spur, muss aber schweigen, um ihr Leben und das ihrer Lieben zu retten.
