This is the second book in the Wohali Book Series.

Wohali, which means Eagle in the Cherokee language, started out as the story of a seven-year-old Cherokee boy living in the 1600s. In the second book, he is now about to turn eight and he's going to show you what it was like to be an Indian in the 17th century. Wohali lives with his family in the Smokey Mountains in what is now North Carolina. He shows you his life and what they think about the world around them. He will tell you about their clans and the village he lives in, and why they were so successful surviving in the mountains.

The Wohali Book Series will follow Wohali and his family and friends as he grows into the warrior he is destined to become.

I highly recommend this audiobook! The author has written a wonderful tale regarding the varied Cherokee families while following a young man journey into adulthood as part of the Cherokee nation. The book is easy to follow and creates a vivid picture in the mind as you listen. Traditional stories regarding animals, elements and trade are told with great narration. This is a must listen.

I had just finished the first story about Wohali, and was ready for the second when it appeared in my in box! Yay!
It’s fascinating to view the “the place of the blue smoke” through the eyes of Wohali back in the 1600s. Learning about eagle medicine, staying in touch with the spirit and the natural world, one begins to appreciate the expanded view of reality enjoyed by the Cherokee nation. And who knew that the state of Tennessee was named as a result of a typo by an army officer?
You’ll love hearing the stories from the wandering storytellers and the metaphors and wisdom they represent.
Learning how their clan systems work and the seven clans discussed here provides additional insight into the hearts and minds of the Cherokee. The different ways pottery was made and decorated, the various sorts of ancestor knowledge passed down from generation to generation all open a window into this ancient culture.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable story (or set of stories - I hope more are planned), and I gladly recommend this latest edition as well worth your time.

This book shows you the struggles of a young Cherokee boy growing up in the 17th century. It shows the uniqueness of the Cherokee people and gives a great depiction of their life. The harsh wilderness gave way to a unique story for Wohali and kept me entertained until the very end.

I found this book to be engaging and entertaining. I didn't have a chance to listen to the first book in this series but was still able to follow along and enjoy the story. I would definitely like to check out the first book. I found that this book strikes the perfect balance between entertainment and education, painting a vivid picture of Wohali's journey. The narration is clear and easy to follow along with.

I just finished listening to "Eagle Medicine - And the Cherokee Bird Clan - Wohali, Book 2" and I am blown away. The author does an incredible job of immersing the listener in Cherokee culture and spirituality. For me, some of the key highlights of the audiobook were - the importance of the Eagle Medicine Path, Wohali's journey to find the sacred eagle feather, and the significance of the sacred fire in Cherokee Bird Clan rituals - are all explored in such depth and detail that I feel like I have a deep understanding of these aspects of Cherokee spirituality.

One moment in particular that stood out to me was when Wohali faces a challenge and learns a valuable lesson about leadership, perseverance, and the importance of community. I was so engaged in the story that I found myself cheering Wohali on and feeling inspired by his journey.

The narration is top-notch and truly brings the story to life. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in learning more about Cherokee culture and spirituality. It is a fascinating and engaging journey that I am sure I will revisit time and time again.

Great second part book! In this book, Wohali is now an eight-year-old Cherokee kid in the 1600s. He spills the beans on his family, life in the Smokey Mountains, and how his crew survives there. The series promises to track Wohali growing into a warrior. It's an awesome time-travel story, showing you what it was like for Cherokee folks back in the day. If you dig history and adventures, this book's got you covered! Highly recommended!

This story was perfect for the Thanksgiving holiday season. It was a beautiful reminder of the nation's roots and told an embarking story of a boy's journey with his Native Tribe. I really enjoyed listening to the stories of Wohali. I loved the stories that were shared as they gave you a glimpse into the life of Wohali and his family and their culture. I plan to listen again with my children so they, too, will have a better understanding of the life of the Cherokee people from a child perspective. You should also listen to the 1st book in this series if you haven't already.
