About this listen

In the first book of this thrilling isekai adventure series, a human becomes a dungeon—and soon that dungeon becomes something much, much more . . .

The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later.

Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right? Slowly but surely, the new dungeon learns the ropes, building himself up with scions of every creepy-crawly sort he can find; gathering mana; dealing with invaders, delvers, noobs, and annoying guild reps; and gradually becoming a local legend known as Thedeim (get it?).

The more Thedeim's power and reputation grows, the more he becomes a part of his new world—and the more its various denizens become a part of his. But how is a proper dungeon supposed to instill spine-shattering, mind-melting terror in a pack of questing adventurers when it's so much more fun to play along with them?

The first volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with more than seven million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

A light and fun book. A dungeon slice of life. I think you'd like it if you like "Beware of chicken" and "The Hapless Dungeon Fairy" Series

Perfect for relaxing

Unique view and funny story. Not many turns, or surprising things. Need more complex characters. All together an enjoyable book, waiting to hear the next book.

steady progress, not difficult to follow the story

As someone that directly supporting the author on Patreon I am without a question, a very biased reviewer.

With that statement done with I will get to the review.

For the most part I enjoyed the audiobook a lot. The Narrator was solid in most parts by my account and the story had a good flow to it. Unlike lot of stories like this, it didn't lose focus on what made the initial reader base stick to it, nor does it appear to lose its focus on what makes it great in the near future (that is a bit of a spoiler from me).

It holds your attention well, it has good humour that made me chuckle at times and I do particularly like the balance it brings via different perspectives from people in the story.

My only misgiving, and it is a very slight misgiving is that I can swear a few of the side stories are missing from this audiobook. Which I am aware may break the narrative flow in an audiobook, but it would have been nice to have some those bits in there.

Honestly, I would have wanted to give the story part 4.5 stars rather than just 4, but either my thumbs are so big I never hit the half star, or that option isn't available.

"If I thought the story was this solid, why give it 4 stars then?" Simple, I can't in good faith give it perfect score when I actually have some misgivings, however minor, with it. It would just feel wrong, and truth be told, I would not even give my most favourite literatures of all time full score for that matter.

However, I can't help but praise the author for their consistency, not losing focus on what truly draws the audience in to their story. They manage to make the progress in the story feel rewarding and enjoyable and never stale. Even in future parts it does not lose sight of this, so I thoroughly recommend this novel to anyone that enjoys this genre of stories.

Great story, but missing few of the sidestories
