About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The first new Dragonlance novel from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman in over a decade, and featuring fan-favorite characters from the iconic first two trilogies, Dragonlance Chronicles and Dragonlance Legends—books that brought a generation of fans into the fantasy fold.
Destina Rosethorn—as her name implies—believes herself to be very much a favored child of destiny. But when her father dies in the War of the Lance, her carefully constructed world comes crashing down. Not only does she lose her beloved father, but the legacy he has left her: a wealthy fiancé, and rule over the family lands and castle. With nothing left in the world to support her but wits and determination, she hatches a bold plan: to secure the Device of Time Journeying she read about in one of her father's books and prevent her father's death.
The last known holder of the Device was one of the Heroes of the Lance: the free-spirited kender, Tasselhoff Burrfoot. But when Destina arrives in Solace - home not only to Tas but to fellow heroes Caramon and Tika Majere—she sets into motion a chain of events more deadly than she had ever anticipated, one that could change not only her personal history but the fate of the entire world, allowing a previously defeated evil to once again gain ascendancy.
©2022 Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (P)2022 Penguin Audiohappily it was both. the story manages to link brilliantly with the originals and add a new twist in the tale.
I'm looking forward to the continuation as well as the release of new Dragonlance content for the D&D 5th edition RPG.

If you are a dl fan I want you to imagine a few things.
Tas
The time travel device
A grey gem leaking a little chaos.
Tas travelling to a fateful day where companions meet up after five years, where they meet a lady with a blue staff.
Imagine how important that time is...
And imagine a book ending with two names now appearing on the muster role for the first Huma dragon War.
Sturm Brightblade
Raistlin Majere
And tell me you aren't excited about the second book....
The last few chapters are a doozy

it was nice to go back to a time were Dragons are in the world and magic is a plenty and just a hint of a familiar name makes what to turn the next page.
that said the story is not bad not on the same par as the Chronicle or legend series but then I don't thing any thing will be Kirsten does a reasonable job even if some mis pronounced names grind a little
But all in all and enjoyable return to Krynn..
