About this listen
FROM THE SHADOW is the story of a country boy who endured a series of tragic events, leaving him alone in a big city. The cruel hand of fate had one more blow: a young offenders' institution. There, in his darkest hour, it would be the bars he lifted, not those that bound him, which would finally change the trajectory of his life - forever.
Dorian Yates' disarming honesty would lead to a reader of an early manuscript saying of FROM THE SHADOW, "I had to force myself to put it down -- the thought of finishing it, of the most real thing I'd ever read coming to an end, was unbearable."

The only thing was at the audio jumped about a little bit, from loud to quiet and back again, and it was quite weird listening to Dorian and talk about Dorian in the third person.
That being said, I really enjoyed the book, it was a great listen and highly recommend it
Really interesting biography, a real glimpse behind the curtain.

Bodybuilding to this extreme was never my thing, but even if you have no interest in bodybuilding or even fitness at all, it will make no difference to the read.
This is a book about a troubled boy who knew he was destined for more, but in the pre-internet age - where BB was mistakenly seen as some sort of underground pseudo-homo sexual subculture - had no idea how he was going to get there.
It chronicles his incredible professional rise, spectacular personal fall and reinvention that has ensured his redemption in the internet age,
Highly recommended.
A great insight
