Featured article: Marvel phases, explained
With this guide and our audio box sets, you'll be able to navigate the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe with ease – and ramp up the fun! There are currently 32 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – with many more on the way. Even for diehard fans, that's a lot of superheroes and timelines to keep track of! The MCU is the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, and the Marvel movies, with their intersecting storylines, familiar comic book characters, and high-stakes action, are beloved by comics fans and film buffs alike. For newcomers, however, knowing where to start with the Marvel movies can be a challenge. You might have heard of the Marvel phases – but what are they, exactly? How many Marvel phases are there? And do you have to watch the movies in order?
It caught me off guard a little at the start. The audio book is in the style of a radio play, and seemingly has a full cast of characters, along with background music and sound effects. The narration is heard over the top as it tells the story.
My initial reaction was I wasn't going to like it, since there wasn't a sample audio yet (and still isn't as I write this). However, as I listened it felt very much at home with the comic style and I really started to enjoy it.
Overall, if you're into marvel comic, and want to hear what is almost a sound track to a movie, it's well worth the credit. Hopefully there is more to come.
It's like a comic book in made of sound!
