Es war an einem dunklen Winterabend in der kleinen Hütte Skrolycka. Kattrinna, die Bäuerin, saß da und spann, und die Katze lag auf ihrem Schoß und spann auch, so gut sie konnte. Der Mann, Jan Andersson, saß am Herde und wärmte sich mit dem Rücken gegen das Feuer.
