Die beiden freunden sich schnell an. Doch dann ist die junge Frau plötzlich verschwunden. Auf ihrer Suche nach der neuen Freundin stellt Rebecca bald fest, dass sie ein Phantom jagt. Alles, was Julia ihr erzählt hat, war gelogen, ihre Begegnung am Strand offenbar sorgfältig inszeniert. Als Rebecca erkennt, weswegen Julia wirklich ihre Nähe gesucht hat, ist es zu spät. Rebecca muss eine Entscheidung treffen, um wenigstens einen der Menschen zu retten, die sie liebt.
