Good old fashion

This is my first book by Linda Weaver Clarke.

It promises Mystery, Adventure, Romance and Intrigue. All are delivered. The book is based on true stories . I think knowing the book is based on history , makes it more interesting.

This book reminds me of a good old fashioned mystery book. I love those books. Sit back and enjoy the story, you will not be disappointed. Like a proper mystery, adventure book the last chapter brings the book together.

Intriguing

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't what I was expecting having listened to the rest of the books in this series, as there is no wild trip looking for lost treasure, but I still enjoyed the adventure. In fact it is more what I would normally choose to listen to, as there is a mystery to solve. Don't get me wrong there is still a well researched legend connected to lost treasure and curses and backed up by history, it's just this story focus more on who or what is behind the run of bad luck. I like the characters as there is a lot of teasing, banter and love between the family making you experience all the emotions with them from laughter to worry. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing, I never did guess right. I think I might have to say the series has gotten better with each book and this is my favourite so far but each book does work as a standalone.
Sharlene and Faith Evans head out to Arizona to help there Uncle on his Dude ranch. The ranch has been in the family for generations but if they can't turn things around he might have no choice but to sell. Staff are quitting unexpectedly, guests are cancelling reservations, tools are go missing and something is killing the cattle. All of the events started happening after there Uncle took a group of tourists up Superstition Mountain. Has he been cursed or is one of his staff trying to get him to sell. When things don't improve with the twins being there the rest of the Evans family head to the ranch to help. Can Julia find out who or what is responsible or will her worry over April and Matthews up coming wedding plans get in a the way?
I like the narrator. I have heard this narrator read a number of books, which also includes all the books in this series, and find that she is a pleasure to listen to and brings excitement and adventure to the story.
