Nachts auf dem Gletscher, da gehört der Mensch nicht hin. Da sind nur die Geister der Toten und der Sturm und der Schnee. Trotzdem entdeckt Skipisten-Toni hoch oben im Dezember ein seltsames Licht - und wenig später die Leiche eines Einsiedlers.
Mit einer Pfeilspitze in der Schulter. Ähnlich wie der weltberühmte Steinzeitmensch Ötzi, der Jahre zuvor fast am selben Ort gefunden wurde. Commissario Grauner, der an manchen Tagen lieber "Viechbauer" wäre, macht sich mit seinem jungen Kollegen Saltapepe aus Neapel an die Ermittlungen. Zwischen wortkargen Dorf-Bewohnern, glühweinseligen Touristen und den Machenschaften eines Skiliftunternehmers entwickelt sich ein hochspannender Fall, der weit in die Vergangenheit führt.
