Aber dann gerät Joe mit seinem selbst gebauten U-Boot in Seenot. Bei dessen Rettung entdeckt Sam tatsächlich das Wrack der "Pontypandy Pearl"!

Die Bergung der uralten Dinge vom Meeresgrund ruft auch Professor Pickles, den Museumsdirektor aus Newtown, auf den Plan. Im Logbuch von Pontypandy Pete findet sich ein Rätsel, das den Weg zu seinem Schatz weisen soll. Schon bald kommt es zwischen Norman und dem Professor zu einem Wettlauf um Pontypandy Petes sagenhafte Hinterlassenschaft, die beide in große Gefahr bringt.
