Poor narration good story
The narration lacked emotion. A car chase and an informal chat were read with the same tone. Story seemed quite good though, lots of layers, twists and turns. I’d be interested to hear more, with a different narrator.

the unfolding of horror without being unnecessary graphic
cleverly written leading the listener this way & that & painting colourful pictures of the various characters both good, vulnerable and bad. The narration was brilliant

Well worth listening to
I liked it from start to finish. The story was easy to follow, intriguing and at times tense. The characters were both interesting and complex enough to hold your interest.

excellent plot
my first encounter with DCI Dan but won't be my last, enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and the various characters all very believe able, easy to listen to narrator

I do think Dan deserves to be demoted. I think Sally would make a much better DI. however, I'm willing to see if his aptitude and ability really does improve.
