About this listen
Rose Pritchard and her seven-year-old daughter Maddie have left everything behind to come to the village of Millthwaite, Cumbria, in search of the person who once offered Rose hope. Almost immediately Rose wonders if she's chasing a dream - but she knows in her heart that she cannot go back. She's been given a second chance - at life, and love - but will she have the courage to take it?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book is intelligent and enjoyable. It deals with a delicate subject (domestic abuse) but it is not a heavy read. The character are well developed and the reader gets a real insight of the situation and the reactions (sometimes difficult to understand from an outsider point of view) of how domestic violence can settled itself in a couple. But it is first and foremost the story of a person who gets herself out of this vicious cycle and rebuild herself without never be cheesy. It is an excellent read and a good balance between serious matters and good reading material. The performance by Anne Dover is perfect, as usual.Great book, excellent performance
