a great story and much more !

These novels are great detective tales, but they're full of so much fantastic background information too..cakes, coffee, obscure symbolism, Freud, Jewish history, art, women's rights, fashion, music, Freemasonry, language, medicine.......and of course we continue to observe the abiding friendship of two very different men who thrive by finding their commonality. If you like a tale to meander delightfully these books are for you

Not as good as previous books in the series

What did you like best about Darkness Rising? What did you like least?

The overall story is weak compared to previous books I have listened to. Really hard to get into and feel any real interest in the characters. Lost the story a few times.

If you’ve listened to books by Frank Tallis before, how does this one compare?

not as good as other books in the series

What about Gordon Griffin’s performance did you like?

performance was good, no issues

If this book were a film would you go see it?

no

Atmosphere & Intrigue

Another great story from Frank Tallis. I love the detailed description of fin de siècle Vienna. The plot is ingenious and the characters like old friends. I found the narrator better on this book than the last one. Keep 'em coming, Frank.
