About this listen

Terrifying new horror novel from acclaimed author Iain Rob Wright. Are you brave enough to ride?

'Bright Lights' AJ Starr is a pro wrestler on the rise, and his life is about to change forever. Knowing this, he plans one last party with all of his best friends. The venue? Saxon Hills theme park, abandoned 10 years ago after its flagship ride burned down and killed nine innocent people.

Some people say the place is haunted, but AJ knows from his time inside the squared circle that fantasy and reality are totally separate things. Or so he thought.

AJ has no idea how nightmarish things are about to get, and eventually he'll be left wondering whether he brought his friends to Saxon Hills theme park to have fun. Or to die.

Great Story

This is another great story from Iain Rob Wright, brilliantly narrated by Aubrey Parsons. It's not too scarey but it is horrific in places. Good cast of characters and well written I'd say it is a must listen for horror fans.

Brilliant book, performance lacking a little

I actually read this via Kindle a long time before this Audible release was available. As a result, I was a little disappointed in the performance. Not that reading it via a screen reader or in Braille would make it any better, but hearing it narrated was a bit of a let down. I did think Aubrey could have done some of the voices better. On to the book itself, I actually submitted a review to Iain once I’d finished it. Can’t post it here, way too many spoilers! But it’s another really good one from a brilliant author. A rollercoaster, literally, of all emotions. Fear, tears, comedy. I couldn’t wait for the Audible version, because I was desperate to read it, so when Iain told me it would be a few months, I took the plunge, and read it via Kindle. Maybe that's why I found the narration a little lacking. There’s one character in particular I felt a strong bond with, then another later on in the book when something is disclosed to us. But it might make you think twice about going to an abandoned theme park!

Good storyline

I really enjoyed Aubrey Parsons performance as always. He is one of my top 3 voice actors. Mr Parsons really knows how to bring a storyline to life. I could listen to him read the telephone book haha.

The storyline was good however it reminded me a little of a typical teen horror movie and of a previous short story I have listened to by the same author.

it's okay

The narrator did a really great job using different voices for each character at some point it sounded like Johnny Vegas. The story was enjoyable not that scary.

meh

the scariest (and best) thing about this was how the narrator made a 28 year old body builder sound like Matt Berry!
