I go between witchy magic book and thriller deceive books. I really enjoyed this book, it was a different kind of magic fantasy book coming with a different angle with werewolves as the main characters. The characters are likable and interesting. The story easily keeping my interest.

I really wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this, there are so many werewolf books now that after a while they become samey, so a different angle is needed nowadays for a book to stand out and this didn't disappoint. Although there are hints at and some actual romance it's not your typical werewolf meets girl, girl gets bitten, girl becomes werewolf blah blah blah. Girl does get bitten but she becomes an independent hard ass alpha bitch who is faced with elitist chauvinist weres who wants rid of her. Amanda Dolan, as always brings the book to life with her narration.

all 5 books are decent paced. enjoyed the narrator lots. its a great series and will look at more this narrator has written now. I do wish the last two were in a bundle like the first 3 but I still used my credits on them separately to find out how the book ended. 3 credits used in 3 weeks, as I wanted to listen more than i usually do.

I had never read anything by this author before and was delightfully surprised by the quality the story line. I would definitely recommend it as a nice easy listen, with good character development.

This is a totally different take on anything magical. The pacing of the story is good and I like the fact thata there are multiple points of view in this story. Looking forward to the next book

Definitely not the usual, almost obvious story, so was excellent. No sex, a touch of romancé and great surprises, some you can guess if your a keen fantasy regular, but nothing obvious in these.

Brilliant world building, great action and fantastic characters. The writing is good and well paced and the story is fresh and interesting. Strong, sensible female lead that doesn’t shrink from a hard task and isn’t afraid to lean on her pack for help. The reader was good, most characters had their own voice, though she put inflections and pauses in when they weren’t needed.
