About this listen

Beware...this book is cursed! These strange but true stories of the world's most infamous items will appeal to true believers as well as history buffs, horror fans, and anyone who loves a good spine-tingling tale.

They're lurking in museums, graveyards, and private homes. Their often tragic and always bizarre stories have inspired countless horror movies, reality TV shows, novels, and campfire tales. They're cursed objects, and all they need to unleash a wave of misfortune is...you.

Many of these unfortunate items have intersected with some of the most notable events and people in history, leaving death and destruction in their wake. But never before have the true stories of these eerie oddities been compiled into a fascinating and chilling volume.

I loved this book and it's narration was perfect. I found the subject matter was really well researched and interesting. The narrator's voice was a big thumbs up for me.

Great collection of stories if you're into this kind of stuff. The only thing that they got wrong was the narrators pronunciation of 'Zak Bagans' as 'Zak Baggins'! 🤣 But, apart from that, I really enjoyed it! 🤗

A little chest of creepy oddities.

The content is interesting enough with info about a laundry list of cursed objects and their stories, but it is all elevated by the narrator. He has a perfect tongue in cheek tone that makes feel like you’re hearing all this at a side show carnival event. Great fun.

Fun cursed history

A very easy to listen to book, the subject matter is interesting (although often urban legends) and written in a tone that doesn't take itself too seriously. The narration is conversational and humorous, and the whole thing is perfect to dip in and out of, whatever you land on is going to be entertaining.

Funny, interesting and breezy

This was a really fun listen, aided a lot by an excellent narrator. I'm usually put off by American accents, but this narrator's voice and demeanour is gentle, funny, and very likeable. The book is a fun pick 'n' mix of short profiles: some very famous objects, some which made me want to go away and read more, and some that were just amusing. It is all held together by some interesting musings on the nature of "cursed" objects in general.

A great little collection of curios

An easy listen, nice and short and to the point. I really enjoyed the narration of this, the accents and pronunciations really sold it for me (the Gollum impression was a bonus!). Would definitely recommend, I’d fallen out of listening to audiobooks for a bit so this was a good listen to get me back into it!

The book provides interesting factual and superstitious material that are entertaining and also very comical.

Enjoyable

Poorly written and not fact checked at all, don’t know if it was just poorly researched or stuff completely made up. For example the whole Shakespeare curse story is completely made up, as someone from England we don’t care at all if his bones get disturbed.

Utter rubbish
