About this listen

The coronavirus-induced quarantine halted large gatherings of people. Attendance at sporting events was reduced to cardboard cutout of fans appearing to be seated in the stands. The average citizen was relegated to watching sports on TV. Science came to the rescue with holographs of professional basketball players transmitted to now abandoned high school gymnasiums all across the country.

The 3D images of life-sized basketball players were amazing. Now, the average Joe could seem to sit in the first six rows of a professional basketball game. The thrills of sports and, of course, the associated gambling were back. In every town in America the Bakker Brewery’s Holographic Sports Bars were constantly packed with virus-weary fans. The problem was that the images could be altered to affect the outcome of the game.
