About this listen
WHAT IF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
Summer Brookes is about to do just that. Inspired by a disastrous New Year’s Eve, a box of old diaries, and a woman who may or may not be her Fairy Godmother, Summer realizes she’s wasting her life in a dead end job, and that she hasn’t achieved a single one of the ambitions she had as a teenager. She didn’t kiss her high school crush. She didn’t travel the world, and become a famous singer. She didn’t overcome her fear of flying, ride a motorcycle, or meet Taylor Swift. But now all of that’s about to change.
In a moment of drunken spontaneity, Summer impulsively books a one-way ticket to Spain, where her high school crush, Jamie, is now running a bar. While she’s there, she’s going to do all the things she never did when she was thirteen; she’s going to break free of her safe-but-dull life, and she’s going to start living a life without regrets. Oh, and she’s also going to kiss Jamie Reynolds. For real, this time. There’s just one problem. His name’s Alexander Fox, he’s in the seat next to her on the plane, and he’s the grumpiest man in the world: so it makes perfect sense that he’d be staying in her hotel too, wouldn’t it?
Can Summer shake off her new nemesis Alex for long enough to track down her first love and live the life she’s always wanted? Or does fate have something else in store for her?

Funny and sometimes too close to home :)
honestly, I didn't like it at the beginning too much... everything felt exaggerated and I couldn't bring myself to connect with the main character at all. maybe it's because main characters are generally so perfect and this one isn't even a bit. the moment the airport scene happened though, I was hooked! that group of people was just hilarious and from then on I just wanted to read more about it and find out how things went. even though one could predict the ending from that moment on, I still wanted to know how it got there !!
the one thing I'd like to add as being weird was hearing Spanish speakers talking English with Italian accents. Spanish speaking English have a different accent altogether and that sort of threw me off.. but other than that, everything was pretty cool! bring on the crew!!

An easy breezy holiday read.
Wondering what your life might be like if you had made different life choices? So is Summer and she decides to break out of her rut and try to cross some things off her bucket list. But will she succeed?
If you liked The Hating Game, you'll probably love this.

Heartwarming holiday read
Just perfect for a bit of escapism when you’re on holiday. Summer, the heroine, is very likeable and I was rooting for her.

Hilarious.
This is such a wonderful book! It is hilarious, with emotional depth, and the characters are delightful. The brilliant narration by Charlie Albers makes the book even more enjoyable.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the narrator. All of the above opinions are my own.

Really funny
I’m not usually a romance reader, but Amber is such a funny writer that I’ve followed for years so I knew this would be worth listening too. Was not disappointed! It’s a really fun story that romps along. Summer and her band of fairy godparents are very good company and the romance is one you can genuinely get behind. The narrator does a great job of brining the whole thing to life. Highly recommended!

An easy, entertaining listen
An easy listen. Summer is a rather clumsy and accident prone hopeless romantic looking to change her life.
A story about taking risks, achieving some goals and growing into yourself.
Summer is very relatable and you follow her story wanting and willing things to turn out for the best for her.

Perfect for Swifties on the beach!
Everything you want from a beach read - self-realisation, best-friend-turned-romantic lead, enemies-to-lovers and a whole lot of endearing mix-ups, mishaps and mistakes along the way.
I particularly enjoyed all the Swift references!

summer
Loved the narration of Charlie Albers, who brings the humour, drama and great characters to your ears.
While at party Summer is approached by an older lady who advises her not to waste her time in Margate, and to make something of her life before it’s too late.
Summer finds herself on a flight to Tenerife after she reads her diaries. While at the airport a man who is in rush has a go t her. Worse yet she and him Alex are seated next to each other.
The two become friends and even share meals together at their hotel. These two had me laughing out loud.
A great rom com.

Very funny listen
When Summer decides to do her child hood how to change you life list, the adventure begins. This is a great listen Summers Fairy God Crone Crew are brilliant. Alexander Fox is easy on the eyes and grumpy on the outside. Very good listen. I look forward to more to enjoying more of Amber Eve stories.
The narrator is perfect.
