Third in the series and I felt like I know the characters. It twists and turns all the way

It is a good read, fast moving like the previous two books, you get Cormoran Strike warts and all

Who was your favorite character and why?

Robin his assistant, who is both finding her feet in this continuing role as a support act, whilst dealing with personal life involving a self-centred demanding partner.

Have you listened to any of Robert Glenister’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Two long for one sitting. I use most of my audio for long car journeys, which are frequent for my job. But always looking for opportunities to get back to listening!

Definitely had me gripped - great story, vivid cast and plenty of twists, turns and surprises in the plot. Felt rather more drawn out than the previous two novels in the series. But well worth sticking with. The two central characters are likeable and compelling. Brilliantly performed by Robert Glenister.

enjoyable fascinating and very well written. this is a superb detective novel. rich characterisation. complex plot very satisfying too puzzle over.

This series gets better and better. Galbraith has really hit his stride. The characters are very well established, real and likeable. The story is engrossing and is much grittier than you would expect from the author and reminded me greatly of another favourite, Mark Billingham's Thorne series. I was so engrossed in the story that I actually shouted out a number of times when the characters were in jeopardy or making bad decisions.

The concept of linking blue oyster cult songs and Strike's collection of past criminal cases (career of evil) works wonderfully.

The Robin / Cormoran relationship is wonderful, though a little cliched, and the impending marriage is almost as threatening as the serial killer in the story.

I enjoyed this so much I am tempted to read it all over again, and that doesn't happen very often.

The ending to the main plot line is satisfying and as for the 'other' ending, that was equal quantities exciting and infuriating.

The narrator is top class with perfect character voices and excellent regional accents throughout.

Thoroughly recommended.
