Giacomo Leopardi (1798 – 1837) è stato un filosofo, filologo, poeta e scrittore italiano. È considerato il maggior poeta dell’Ottocento italiano e una delle figure più importanti della letteratura mondiale. Nonostante si ritenesse vicino al classicismo, Leopardi è ritenuto uno dei massimi esponenti del romanticismo letterario.
