I enjoy all the Ilona Andrews series and they transfer well to audio, particularly with Renee Raudman narrating who suits the writing style perfectly. I knocked off a star because every time sex comes into it the writing becomes repetitive and tedious and I just want to skip read/listen.

I finished this book it took me a total of 2 days, I read it in paperback version but leave a review because I decided to purchase the whole series in audio version too 🤍
The book was written from the point of view of Nevada Baylor, first person, at the beginning and at the end there is a third point of view.
The book is wonderfully written, engrossing, attractive and addictive!
Thank you so much for a distraction on difficult days, Nevada is stunning, sharp, witty and Connor (Connor “Mad” Rogan) with a sense of humor that made me laugh and me smile a lot.
Highly recommend! Continues to the next 📚🤍

The magic system and worldbuilding are awesome, coupled with a great narrator it is well worth a listen, repeated listen even. I would have given it 5 stars, but the romance aspect feels poorly written and shallow. I rolled my eyes so hard everytime Nevada had an internal monologue about how attractive the male protagonist is that I gave myself a headache. It is cringey and feels unearned as well as typical in how the guy is described (the typical ”he is manly man with his manly maleness that was distinctly male”) the amount of times this is repeated feels like it was a deliberate attempt to reach a wordcount.
That aside, awesome characters over all and the concept is awesome. Ilona Andrews are my favourite authors in the romantasy genre specifically for how engaging their worldbuilding is. I recommend most of their work.

nice book, well written and readed , the plot is really nice and new and as i said i really liked the female caracter ,strong, she knows Her limation but i can't say the same about the male One.. he is Just too mutch self assorbed and help doesn't show how mutch he cares about Her offline not through object..i Hope he develope in the next book ...

I'm so glad I started this story. Nevada is such a refreshing main character and the story was really entertaining!

The narrator did a good job. At first I didn't like her voice, and she put up a really weird voice throughout the entire prologue which made me worried for the rest of the book lol. But luckily that weird voice was only because of a different POV in the prologue.
