About this listen
Life has become a farcical mess for icy British A-lister Elizabeth Thornton. America's most-hated villain stars in a top-rated TV medical drama that she hates. Now, she's been romantically linked to her perky, new co-star, Summer, due to the young woman's clumsiness. As a closeted actress, that's the last thing Elizabeth needs. If she could just get her dream movie role, life would be so much better. The only problem is that the eccentric French film-maker offering it insists on meeting her "girlfriend", Summer, first.
Summer Hayes is devastated when her co-star shuns her for accidentally sparking rumors that they're lovers. Now the so-called British Bitch has the audacity to ask Summer to pretend to be her girlfriend to get her a role? Elizabeth doesn't even like Summer! Oh, how she'd love to tell her no. And Summer definitely would if it wasn't for the fact she's maybe a tiny bit in love with the impossible woman.
Contains mature themes.

Superb
The characterisations are beautifully written but the narration lifts this to the top of my favourite list - I've already listened twice and will queue it up at least once a month when I need a boost of soppiness and romance :) I love Summer and her family but Elizabeth made me weak at the knees and I'm British! My fervent hope is that there is a sequel and I'll get another 11 hours to delight in these characters and THAT accent :)

Angela Dawe makes a great story sexy as hell
I’ve already read the book (and flicked backwards and reread most chapters) because I had to do something to slow down my gallop through this fantastic and beautifully written story. I loved the characters- especially Delvigne and Skye. Of course it goes without saying that Summer and Elizabeth make a beautiful couple but to quote Bess… Oh. My. God. I didn’t think I could find Elizabeth any sexier but wow I think I’m more than a little in love.

My first Lee Winter experience
I bought this with a bit of trepidation, since most lesbian fiction tends to fall on the cringe side. However after reading some reviews I decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did. The characters are so full and addictive, the development of the relationship between Elizabeth and Summer is absolutely superb. I finished this within days and I am off to indulge myself in the works of Lee Winter.

Couldn't stop
Great storyline and the anticipation of what would happen next meant it was hard to stop listening. Occasional ropey English accent but the deeper voice for Elisabeth was mesmerising!!

breaking character 👍👍❤
really brilliant story line of actors in a medical series, really great characters all the way through and really brilliant narration with the different accents, with good comical moments and a really good happy ending as well (brilliant)👍👍❤

Lovely! Be still my heart.
Love this. Cute characters. Lovely slow build. Such a lovely denoument.
But why can't Americans do accents? I mean at least Ms Dawe tries but English people do not sound like that. Nor do Irish, Scottish nor Kiwis. It's so distracting.

This is my first Lee Winter listen, but most definitely won’t be my last!
Loved the storyline, the choice by the author to not just have them meet, fall madly and jump into bed together without any real buildup. Give me some depth to the characters first any day, just like the author has done here. I didn’t want it to end.
The narrator was amazing and a new favourite for me, as she pulled off every accent well, except for one, I’m afraid. The New Zealand accent made me cringe (shame, because the character was great) - sounding like a cross between an Aussie and something else not good. Kiwi vowels aren’t short for words like basketball and castle, nor do they use the saying ‘but’ as a last word in a sentence. Both of these are Aussie inflections. Sorry, but it would just be really nice to hear good, well researched versions of accents, rather than almost caricature versions at times.
Her voice for Elizabeth, though. Wow…..silky smooth and reminds me of Catharine Cleveland in The Senator’s Wife series by Jen Lyon.
