Firstly its great to get some visibility of persistent concussion, a condition which can affect up to 30 % of people unfortunate enough to suffer a mild brain injury. The author's story is similar to mine - bike accident followed by a long recovery time - except originally my concussion was undiagnosed. The book describes well many of the symptons that you might be expected to experience if you are unfortuante enough to have this condition - poor memory, brain fog, tiredness, depression, loss of identity, impact on family and friends etc- and also the often lonely road to recovery. Everyone's journey is different and taking an open mind to the therapies and treatment is a really good idea. The only thing for me, I would say, is I think the tone may be somewhat optimistic as the author has recovered fully, whereas in my case that is still ongoing and I believe its more about adapating to a new you than trying to be everything that you were before.

Its a short book, and the naration is a bit slow and deliberate (I listened at 1.25X). You can also download the pdf on the author's website.

Ultimately though its brilliant to have a book that describes the condition very well.

Great book on the longer term effect of concussion
