Some books seem to take an age developing plot,characters and setting but the Dark Yorkshire novels roar away like a speeding motorbike while you hold on for dear life.
You reach the end breathless and exhilarated and with just enough left open to pique your interest.

Although this is still a very good book, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous 3 in the series. I found the storyline to be quite complicated, and I got lost once or twice. This may have been because I listened to the book during the coronavirus lockdown and I have been finding it hard to concentrate.

However, it was nice to catch up with Nate and his team and I look forward to listening to the next in the series.

Greg pasmore is the perfect narrator for this book. his characterizations give real life to the protagonists. story lines are never predictable.

Another clever, well written and highly enjoyable novel in the Dark Yorkshire series. Good action, loads of twists and several plots on the go at once with Caslin once again putting his superhero cape on and defying the odds. Looking forward to the next.

DI Caslin certainly knows how to get himself into some fixes! Here, on his fourth outing, the narrative is compelling and the adventure cleverly constructed. How the author manages not only to gather but to weave the research he must have to do, I don’t know. I love this series and really hope there are more to come - I can easily imagine it on TV. I also enjoy Patmore’s performance - his ability to slip from one character to another - often in multiple accents - is brilliant! Highly recommended.
