About this listen
Black Friday is aptly named. The day after Thanksgiving when shoppers are enticed to rise at unholy hours by stores whose merchandise is available at sale prices. This puts the merchants' ledgers sturdily in the black.
Humanity ceases to be the dominant species on the planet and becomes a herd animal, trampling hapless salespeople in their efforts to get a good deal. We are the prey of advertisers and merchandisers who convince us we cannot live without products we have never seen before. Are there other forces that prey on mankind in this most psychologically vulnerable time? Perhaps.
Let me pull back a curtain and present you with a glimpse of a few other reasons this particular Friday might be called "Black".
