About this listen

Ben's Book of Precious Memories is a memoir. Ben was born in 1938 and grew up during WWII and the late 1940s. He was from a large family—seven brothers and two sisters, a not-uncommon occurrence during that era.

Ben's father, Alfred, was born just before the dawn of the twentieth century, and his mother, Rena, was born in 1900. During the 1950s, Ben came of age.

The book is filled with stories of a life filled with precious memories. As Ben grew up, hardships were endured, but the gifts of a large, loving family and friends far outweighed them. Ben's story is filled with warmth and humor. It makes one pine for a simpler time.

As a radio announcer from Ben's childhood once intoned: "Return with, us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear."
