About this listen

Rich, dark, sumptuous and evocative... Best-selling author Nalini Singh is back with a stunning new tale in her deadly, beautiful world where angels rule and vampires serve.

With wings of midnight and an affinity for shadows, Jason courts darkness. But now, with the Archangel Neha's consort lying murdered and her rage threatening cataclysmic devastation, Jason steps into the light, knowing he must unearth the murderer before it is too late. Earning Neha's trust comes at a price - Jason must tie himself to her bloodline through the Princess Mahiya, a woman with secrets so dangerous, she trusts no one. Least of all an enemy spymaster.

With only their relentless hunt for a violent, intelligent killer to unite them, Jason and Mahiya embark on a quest that leads to a centuries-old nightmare...and to the dark storm of an unexpected passion that threatens to drench them both in blood.

Read by Justine Eyre.

Jason

A spy master and a princess. A very unusual combination that made a great book. As 2 sisters battle each other.

Stunning

This book is without a doubt my favourite of the whole series. I loved the leads, Jason and Mahiya. Jason has intrigued me from the first mention of him so I couldn't wait to hear this book. Boy did it not disappoint. Jason is strong, loyal and fascinating. His back story heartbreaking. Mayhiya is kind and has in incredible strength of spirit despite everything she's been through. It was refreshing. Both endured so much and were perfect for each other. I actually cried at the end and let me tell you that does not happen often.

We also get to see bits of Dmitri and Honor, which I loved, as well as all the other characters I've come to adore. Venom's book should be fun, our glimpse of him was enticing. It was also nice to see into another court. I'm loving this world and can't wait to hear the rest of the audiobooks.

As usual the narrator, Justine Eyre was phenomenal. I just adore her tone and the way she reads. Her voice for Jason was perfect. I honestly don't think that I could read these books better myself. Love her.
