Another great story, thoroughly enjoyed this story, even if ended on a sad note. I listened to this in one evening and probably the only moan would be that you are always left wanting more, which reflects on the good story written by M L Hamilton and the great story telling. By Kelley Hazen

Fans of the various Peyton Brooks series will love this book and this series. This book is Peyton and Marco when they were younger and less mature, before they became the dynamic duo they are destined to become. It must be so challenging for ML Hamilton to write these characters knowing who they will eventually become without giving away any spoilers but with all the humour, grit and gumption we have come to expect!

Crimes committed on Halloween night must be challenging for the police force as proven by the homicide Peyton and Marco have to solve. As usual, ML Hamilton includes the most colorful characters and some mind-boggling clues. But no matter what, Peyton and Marco manage to unravel the mystery with their unique flair!

Kelley Hazen does a fantastic job of narrating the book. As always, I forget that she is one person giving a performance because she manages to capture the essence of each character so thoroughly.

I am so glad that there are more books with Peyton and Marco yet to come. Cannot wait!
