About this listen

Agatha lets sleeping vets lie...

Retired PR boss Agatha Raisin is enjoying life in her pretty Cotswold village of Carsely. It even seems likely that the attractive new vet, Paul Bladen, has taken a shine to her. But before romance can blossom, Paul is killed in an accident with Lord Pendlebury's horse. Only the circumstances are rather suspicious.

Agatha decides she must once more play amateur investigator. And this cloud has a silver lining - she can persuade her usually stand-offish neighbour, James Lacey, to become her partner in the quest. As usual, Agatha is quite prepared to rush in, heedless of the lurking menace to both James and herself.

Great

Really enjoyed the story, like a refreshing modern day Marple.
On to the next in the series!
I did however prefer the narrative done by Penelope Keith.

What Happened to Penelope Keith!?

Now don't get me wrong, Diane Bishop does a great job. But I was under the impression that Penelope read all these books. Ah well I wonder who's reading the third? lol I am NOT looking! Am leaving for a surprise.

Another great story by M C. Beaton

Agatha Raisin is as always.... good. So is Penelope Keith reading the story. I cannot imagine anyone else doing the dialogue. Agatha reminds me at times of myself.

Give it a listen.

After seeing so many reviews complaining about the narrator and having the initial shock of a voice that isn’t PK reading it ... it was absolutely fine.

I cannot agree that the deceivers makes it unlistenable, it is perfectly good.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Really enjoying this series, just nice listening with some great humour and the characters are lovely. Great to see their growth and the story arcs for each of them.

Delightful

Perfectly narrated, relaxing and a lot of fun, for when you don’t want to think too much.

Light hearted and very enjoyable

Any additional comments?

Don't get distracted by Penelope Keith. This is a one off by Diana Bishop and she reads it very well.

Missing Penelope Keith

An excellent book, M.C. Beaton, as always, weaves a web of evil around the Cotswold villages

However, being used to PK narrating the Agatha Raisin books, I found this to be missing that special element

Another good storyline.

Another good storyline, with a different narrator I really missed listening to Penelopy Keith who I feel brings the character to life better. But I still can't wait for my next Agatha Raisin book.
