About this listen

Even though Agatha Raisin loathes Christmas panto, her friend Mrs Bloxby, the vicar's wife, has persuaded her to support the local am dram society in their festive offering. Stifling a yawn at the production of Babes in the Wood, Agatha watches the baker playing an ogre strut and threaten on stage until a trapdoor opens... followed by a scream and silence!

Surely this wasn't the way the scene was rehearsed? When it turns out the local baker had been murdered most horribly, Agatha puts her team of detectives on the case. And they soon discover more feuds and temperamental behaviour in amateur dramatics than in a professional stage show - and face more and more danger as Agatha and her team get too close to the killer...

entertaining with enough twists

I love listening to penelope Keith. The characters are like old friends now! The plots are well thought out and Agatha is frustratingly real - I frequently find myself thinking 'Nooo don't do that!' as she gets herself into yet another embarrassing scrape.

Popcorn for the ears

Easy listen with excellent narration and a story to keep the interest. Perfect for my commute and supermarket shop to make both so much more entertaining.

Another good murder mystery

Once again another brilliant rendition by Penelope Keith of a great murder mystery. I do love the characters portrayed! Must say it all happens in the Cotswolds!

I admit that I enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would. However, for me the true diamond is the brilliant vocal talents of Penelope Keith

Easy and entertaining listening

If you could sum up Agatha Raisin and the Blood of an Englishman in three words, what would they be?

These Agatha Raisin novels are great for when you just want some easy and entertaining listening. Penelope Keith as always brings the characters to life.

What did you like best about this story?

The vulnerable yet strong character of Agatha.

Another good mystery with flawless narration.

Agatha is getting older but not wiser. This is another good murder mystery in the series, fun, light and relaxing, as always flawlessly narrated by Penelope Keith.

Superb narrator

A delight to listen to Penelope Keith. The story a bit OTT but this was my first Agatha Rasin story. Looking forward to the next.
