About this listen
Yuletide overindulgence on the poison front . . .
During the dark, grey days of early December Agatha is obsessed by two things - the looming festivities, and her ex, James Lacey. In order to drive the latter from her thoughts, Agatha concentrates on planning the perfect Christmas for her friends.
Even the murder of a Mrs Tamworthy, poisoned with hemlock, does little to distract her and yet it should, as Mrs Tamworthy had written to Agatha, telling her that one of her family wanted to see her dead before the year was out. So slightly guiltily (and belatedly), Agatha sets out to solve the case before the 25th rolls around . . .

Easy listen
Typical Agatha Raisin story; murders and mayhem with comic interludes. Penelope Keith reads the story beautifully as always.

Entertaining!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would, but I think the Christmas reference have been 'shoehorned' into a everyday story
What was one of the most memorable moments of Agatha Raisin and Kissing Christmas Goodbye?
The comic events at the marquee! With the snow machine going haywire!
Have you listened to any of Penelope Keith’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes I have- Penelope Keith is an excellent actress and recounts this tale very well
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
not really- I don't suppose its meant to be deep and meaningful but it is quite entertaining with various characters

Easy reading
These books are a great read when you want an easy read without too much Brain input. All much the same format, but fun nonetheless.

Agatha Raisin and Kissing Christmas Goodbye..
I absolutely love these stories by M.C.Beaton.
Agatha Raisin has so many different types of temperaments and
her different sides come through in sympathetic tones, harsh words that are unpredictable, and she can be bad tempered when she wants too be. But, she has a very caring side and can almost be kind and a good listener until, she’s had enough, then her temperament changes again. She gets herself into some difficult situations that only Agatha can do! Agatha is a very well dressed lady and she does like her makeup! A really great read, good story lines and it’s very interesting getting to know Agatha and what she gets up to next!
Penelope Keith has this lovely lady sleuth of to a tee! I love how Penelope changes her voice and accents for all the different characters, she really brings the whole of these stories to life!
A big thank you to Penelope Keith for thoroughly bringing these books to life and giving me endless hours of brilliant entertainment. Looking forward to listening to the next one! 😊

Festive Fun!
I really enjoyed this book. The Agatha Raisin series is my favourite, and I am reading them in order. This one introduces a new character, Toni Gilmour, and she has proven to be a very good addition to Agatha's agency. I will be re-listening to this at Christmas!

Another excellent story!
I love all the Agatha Raisin stories. Expertly read by Penelope Keith who always portrays the character so well. I couldnt imagine anyone else capturing Agathas character as brilliantly as she does. Loved this book... on to the next in the series.
