About this listen
TV presenter, writer and adventurer Alice Morrison gives her own unique and personal insight into Morocco, the place she's made her home.
When Alice Morrison headed out to Morocco, it was to take on one of the most daunting challenges: to run in the famous Marathon des Sables. Little did she expect to end up living there. But once she settled in a flat in Marrakech, she was won over by the people, the spectacular scenery and the ancient alleyways of the souks. Soon she was hiking over the Atlas Mountains, joining nomads to sample their timeless way of life as they crossed the Sahara desert, and finding peace in a tranquil oasis.
Despite more than 10 million tourists coming to Morocco each year, there are remarkably few books about its people, their customs and the extraordinary range of places to visit, from bustling markets to vast, empty deserts. Alice makes sure she samples it all, and as she does, she provides a stunning portrait of a beautiful country.

Enjoyed this book enormously. Full of fun and takes of a country I have wanted to visit. All the more interesting because the author spoke the language. Full of charming details and very well read. Thank you

Insightful and anecdotal tales from Morocco
Alice has a fresh abs energetic style as she reads her own adventures in Morocco. He knowledge of the language and her understanding of the culture enables her to reach into where most travellers could only dream of. Thoroughly enjoyed her enthusiasm and love for the country as well as her narrations!

I am packing my bags!!
I have fallen in love with Alice and her wonderful stories. I originally searched for a Moroccan travel log as we are planning a holiday. However now, I am also investigating a trek.
Having listened to the ‘taster’ I almost did not download the book as I found the extrovert Alice’s exuberant intonation a little over the top for my introvert taste. However I am so glad I did, her captivating stories bring the landscape and people of Morocco to life.

Incredible source about life in beautiful Morocco
This book is packed with information about all that Morocco is about, it includes general info about locations in the country, landmarks etc but also about the culture and customs of its incredible people. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about the culture and its rich heritage as well as simply about the city or region they’re visiting for a holiday!

Requited Love
This is a love story, a woman’s love for a Country and its people and that Country and its people love for her.
It was sheer joy to listen to, my heart nearly leapt out of my chest on several occasions when she related certain instances when heaven seemed to touch earth with Moroccan magic.
Alice could hardly contain herself as she related her adventures and the deeeeep friendships she forged with the native men women and children of Morocco.
I’ve been visiting Morocco for years so an familiar with the geography and the culture, but Alice has given me some insights into how to charm these charming people in order for them to bring the best out of myself and open my cold Northern heart to their warm Southern hearts.

Excellent introduction to Morocco
I purchased this book as it was recommended in a reading list for travel to Morocco. I finished it over the evenings of just one week and I can’t wait to go to Marrakech now! Alice is fun and informative, easy to listen to and I’m now going to listen to another of her books on the same topic.
