About this listen

Paul Alexander, the best-selling author of the Kindle Single Murdered, introduces us to Tommy Harris, the 14-year veteran of the Houston Police force, his fight with a man outside a bar, a death, and the ensuing homicide trial. The district attorney had boasted, "Anyone can convict a guilty person, but it takes someone really good to convict an innocent one." Did Harris apply a naked choke-hold, or did the district attorney and his forensics team set up Harris?

True Crime

Editor reviews

In 2009, 14-year veteran of the Houston Police force Tommy Harris ended up in an altercation which caused a man's sudden death. Paul Alexander, best-selling author of the Kindle Single Murdered, examines Harris' grand jury indictment for criminally-negligent homicide and the dramatic trial that ensued. Paul Christy's hard-nosed performance never overdramatizes or sensationalizes, and he keeps his narration sharp as controversy rages during the trial, with accusations of perjury blurring the facts of the case. Christy keeps up the pace throughout the audiobook, and listeners will find themselves holding their breath until the verdict is revealed in the end.

As true stories go this was very interesting, I was constantly distracted by the narration, it was very matter of fact and more monotonous.... He also sounded a lot like Colonel Potter from M*A*S*H!!!!
