About this listen
Aaron isn’t looking for love, but it finds him–and it has a few surprises in store....
A laidback man who goes with the flow
Aaron is happy for his friends who’ve found love, but he’s starting to feel as if he’s an endangered species–a single guy. Not that he’s looking for anyone. But if someone were to turn up, he figures they would be female, younger than his 27 years, and as disinterested as he was in searching for a soul mate.
He’s about to get it wrong on most counts.
Working in the Acadia National Park, he meets all kinds of people, like that painter he met the other day. A quiet guy, but he certainly made an impression. Because for some reason, Aaron can’t get him out of his mind.
A bruised soul seeking inspiration
Dean has picked up his paintbrush again. A famous artist who’s spent the last couple of years producing book illustrations under a different name, he’s come back to Maine seeking inspiration–and leaving the past behind him. The glorious natural beauty breathes new life into him, and it brings with it a new friend, a handsome ranger, the only person Dean has felt a connection to in a long time.
But when that connection unexpectedly becomes physical and Dean’s emotions get entangled, he fears history is about to repeat itself.
He’s not about to let his heart be broken a second time.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, John Solo continues to do an amazing job bringing these characters and their stories to life. His portrayal of the characters is exceptional, as are his character voices, which have been consistent throughout the entire series. He sets the perfect tone for the story and his pacing is spot on. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to and his narration enhances an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing each of the guys in this tight group of friends get their HEA. Aaron gets his in this story just not quite the way he expected. Aaron has always been pretty laid back and we really get to see that in this story. He’s the only one of his group of friends who’s straight – or so he thought.
Dean had a bad breakup with a boyfriend five years ago and it really set him into a tailspin. He was no longer able to paint the beautiful canvases he had become known for and instead started doing illustrations for books, albeit not under his real name. When he meets Aaron something clicks and he starts painting again like crazy; he’s found a new muse – too bad he’s straight.
I love a good bi-awakening story and this one is beautiful. It has the added bonus of being a friends-to-lovers one as Aaron and Dean begin a great friendship before they start a friends-with-benefits arrangement and finally move on to something much deeper.
Once again, John Solo did a fantastic job performing this audiobook. I'm so glad that KC has been using him for her books in this series.

More of a fun book for this group of friends you would love to have. The backstory for this book is well written. I loved reading/listening to this book; of course, we got our HEA. Well worth the read.
Aaron is the only straight friend in their friend's group, most of his friends have hooked up with someone significant over the last year, but Aaron couldn't find that special person. But what he has found is another friend to add to their ever-growing friend group.
Dean, an artist who had a five-year break from painting due to a rough breakup, gradually relocated back to where he lived as a child. Not wanting a relationship, he was delighted to meet Aaron, join his friendship group, and meet Grammy.
Even though this book is part of the Maine Men series, each book, in my opinion, can be read alone, although you do get to meet all the other men briefly in each book and the wonderful Grammy who loves a party.
A well-written book about men, love and second chances in life and how we can all be on the rainbow spectrum. Excellent Narration from John Solo again. I speed up the narration to 1.30. but this is usual for me, and I find most people read too slowly.
