A very good account of ww2. Some of the accents were the worst I’ve ever heard but the performance overall was very good.

To start with I thought I would struggle with the American narration. However the book is so well written and paced, I realised it was more authentic that it was not in a British accent. A fantastic memoir.

Well written story only slightly marred by the reader’s terrible attempts at accents - the chapter in Oxford where he has to do British, Australian, Canadian and Scottish is unintentionally hilarious.

This has to be one of the best books ive read, the stories of the 100th and Crosby are incredible.

A thoughtful overview of the US contribution to the war. I found that Harry's slightly autistic personality leads him to be very honest and give a lot of detail (which I really appreciate) and a great insight into the changing attitudes and command structure of his unit. His thoughts on heroism as he looks back are interesting.
