A few days ago I listened to my first Tony Black, Artifacts of the dead and absolutely LOVED it - I was gripped and hooked. Last evening I downloaded this second book in the series and I've just finished listening to the entire story in one day whilst completing boring chores and it was equally brilliant, gripping and enthralling..... I need more, the next one, I am addicted! So well written, so balance between the gritty, dirty and dangerous life of a Scottish Detective and the vulnerable, tender reflections and responsibilities of a true Family Man with the added element of sixth sense happenings steming from his earlier briefly dead moments following his being stabbed.....it's going to change your perceptions of life and it certainly has for DI Bob Valentine! Keep writing them Tony Black and NEVER change your Audio book performer of the BRILLIANT Garth Cruickshank who IS the characters you created!

DI Bob Valentine is a man with tender true grit, beautifully written and perform with outstanding excellence.
