About this listen

Blood hides carnal desires. Power is overrated.

Killing for Family is tainted with nothing but love...

My emotions are supposed to be dead.

I was never meant to feel this. Pain. Anger. Rage. Feelings erode me from the inside.

They make me weak. They make him more powerful.

But I can't lose.

Dante is my sweetness in hell. My father has me where he wants me. And my boys...well they think I'm all but lost.

They're right. I'm not the same Angel of Death they knew and desired. I'm losing control one promise at a time. I'm spiraling, de-evolving, turning into him.

But in the end, I need no one.

Pain, torture, and torment is the only way to be monstrous.

I've known it all along.

Haven't you?

Book 3 did not fail to dissapoint. There's a lot to take in and so much going on. Viola is still her savage but calm piece of chaos and she is strangely, a likeable character. Not sure what will happen in the next book but I am here for it!

Loved it

Book three takes a turn for Viola and not in a good way. I'm really enjoying Hannah Hedley's performance as Viola; her irritation at the boys getting under her skin and making her feel things is bubbling under the surface throughout. Dante has entered the chat too and I am here for his "I'm not one of your boys" attitude; Lucas Webley's Lorcan was my favourite previously but his Dante is hands down out in front after book three. Dante has done some real questionable things but almost all has been forgiven after this one!

Jude was MIA but with the addition of other characters like Lily (Viola's patience with her really surprised me as she was the kind of girl I could see the Viola of book one not putting up with at all), and Dante taking a bigger role, I didn't miss him too much. I can't quite get a bead on Dino; he seems the sweetest of the bunch but the one who is the least accepting of Viola's darker side. Seeing his brother in action explained a lot though. Adrian may be the big bad but Kristian is vile. Chicken wire and electrical tape made me physically shudder.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Mallory Fox brings us back to Viola and her men. It's been a wild ride, let me tell you! I absolutely adored following Viola in this one. The plot is as intense as the first two, keeping me on the edge of my seat so many times! Twists, turns, spice and absolute chaos reign among these characters and I was so glad I had the front row seat for it! For the audiobook, Lucas Webley's talent is unmatched for bringing this men to life. He's intense, he's smooth, he's absolutely chaos and I loved him voicing Dante, Lorcan, Dino & Jude. I felt everything through his voice! Hannah Hadley is perfection as Viola and all her crazy. She absolutely nailed each and every bit of emotion and blender perfectly with Lucas Webley! In true form, Mallory Fox leaves us with another intense cliffy at the end, leaving me absolutely desperate for the next one!

Intense, Wild Ride!

A Promise Of Torment is book 3 in A Violent Agenda series, these absolutely need to be read in order as they each end on a cliffhanger. This book was a lot to take in, wow ! There was so much happening constantly, I mean Viola and her men are constantly in the throes of danger. The action in this one was non stop and I'd say the triggers might be a little heavier. There is a lot of bloodshed, danger and a whole lot of emotions. There was just so much to grasp, but I had a lot of fun with it.

Once again Viola is just insane, but you can't help but get kind of attached to her in a weird way. We do get to see a lot more of Dante in this one and get to learn more of Viola's past. I liked getting to know why Viola was how she was and what created these murderous ways in her. I do feel like I need a little more character development or for her to redeem herself a little bit more, but overall she's a great character. The ending definitely left me wanting more and to know how this finally ends.

Overall, this was an enjoyable installment in the series. Probably the most violent one yet. It was a lot of fun and highly entertaining, but check your triggers.

The narration by Hannah Hedley & Lucas Webley was once again really good. I love their accents as usual but I do need to listen at a lower speed due to it. They play their characters well and bring the necessary emotions to the table.
