I voluntarily reviewed an ALC of this book. I had a hard time getting into the story - but that’s because it’s already the 5th book of the series. I guess I have to read/listen to the previous books to get the story. Nevertheless, I enjoyed listen to Nicholas Cains narration.

This was an enjoyable read/listen. I do feel that it would have been better if I had listened to the previous books however I got the gist of what had happened before. These are good strong characters. Fantastic performance.

The narration was good however, I struggled with this book. I recommend starting with book 1. This was the first book I listened to in this series and I could not keep up with what was happening. I think it is important to listen to these books in order. If I had known all the characters and things that have happened previously it would have been better for me.

I loved the narration of Nicholas Cain, who brings this story to your ears, you can feel the angst, action and steam,

Gideon is going after his friend and he is sure it’s a suicide mission. Vic peaks his beast’s interest, but neither of them want commitment. Vic is a strong woman, who just needs a man for one thing and moves on. Gideon wants the pride to grow, She thought nothing of having Gideon for as long as he was with the pride and then moving on. Vic. had been strong, determined and is surprised by her growing feelings for Gideon. The feelings are on both sides. Gideon needs to learn he is not responsible for anyone’s actions other than his own.
