About this listen

Simple heartwarming stories about a father and daughter, and other children, in nature. Written during the first year of the Earth Children, a forest kindergarten in the mountains of New Mexico, the stories will leave you laughing, surprised, and occasionally uncomfortable.

It is a glimpse into the wonder of childhood (and parenthood) through the eyes of a loving and devoted father, a joyous ride for anyone who was once a child and isn’t anymore. Names and details have been changed for privacy, but the stories are true.

At first, I thought it strange to hear an Irish accent, soft, mellifluous, but strange. I wanted to know if Joseph Sarosy has an Irish heritage. Somehow, it mattered to me. As I listened, however, I just thought how perfect it was. We're people of the same planet. Why wouldn't he be telling his tale as gently as Andrew MacDermott.

I love these tales and have learned more, I think, about fatherhood than from some other books. They're also poetic and captivating, beautiful to spend time with.

Beautiful tales of parenting in nature
