About this listen

His past could destroy their future....

Having escaped capture in London, Bridget and Cormac flee to Ireland with their daughter, Emily. Their homecoming is bittersweet as they embark upon the daunting task of searching for Cormac’s family, who have been missing for over seven years.

Their journey takes them back to the familiar surroundings of the Oakleigh Estate in Carlow, but their childhood home has become a different place to the one they remember. As they confront the consequences of Bridget’s embittered mother’s actions, they must also come to terms with an agonizing choice between family and duty.

And when Cormac’s murky past catches up with him, endangering the ones he loves, will the threat be great enough to crush the hopeful future he and Bridget have envisioned together?

A Class Forsaken is the third book in Susie Murphy’s historical fiction series A Matter of Class. The story continues in the fourth book, A Class Coveted.

I have to say that Susie Murphy is a fabulous author with an amazing talent to write like this! It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to a series of books that have stayed with me long after I’ve finished reading them.
The love story of Brigitte and Cormac from different classes details their differences and the struggles they face to be together. I’ve listened to all three books on Audible ( twice over) and Gary Furlong narrates them perfectly, he really does bring all the characters to life and makes it so easy to really immerse yourself into the story, he’s by far the best narrator and I’ve listened to many Audible books! A wonderful story, I can’t wait to listen to books 4 and 5 and I hope the saga continues long beyond these books, a beautiful story beautifully narrated, they would also make a lovely TV drama too.
Thank you Susie and Gary 🙏❤️

What a wonderful family saga!

Can’t wait for the next book to see what awaits them in America and if they find his sister

Fantastic

Again another great read with great narration, it's like listening to 10 characters at once! Even the female characters! Brought the story to life. I'm off to read the last one.

Absolutely brilliant

I enjoyed it as much as the previous installments in the series. Susie's writing is fabulous, touching and *seemingly* effortlessly flowing as always (I know there's lots of work behind so it appears so) and Gary is amazing (so many different, well characterised and easily distinguishable voices)!

Fabulous as usual
