About this listen

Death once claimed me, stole the air from my lungs as I burned alive… only I didn't stay dead.

Instead, I was returned to my past and back to a living hell.

The Academy, where those who I believed were friends were actually foes. My enemies thought they could break me, but I proved them wrong.

Two months ago, I was given a second chance, a second life. With it, I now wanted answers… and revenge.

But something went wrong.

Chaos is happening all around me. Moments in time that never happened before. New people, strange marks, mutated monsters, and a power growing inside me that I have yet to fully understand.

I've caused events to alter with my presence… so it's time I followed suit.

With the bonds I've created in this new life, I'll find the answers I want and reclaim what's mine.

A Blackened Bond is the second book in The Blackened Blade series and a paranormal why-choose romance. It's full of action, revenge, and five dark and damaged love interests that the FMC will not have to choose between. It contains adult themes and bad language that some listeners may find upsetting.

Great work! Absolutely loved listening to this book. Can't wait for the next one. Great performance.

Amazing

Absolutely love the book when I read it and listening to it was just as good. The narrators brought the characters to life.

Brilliant

Comparing to the first book, which was more focused on the initial setting of the story, part 2 is more covering the development of the character relationships of every angle. And, well, when I say every angle, the characters really explore EVERY angle. (I'm sure Annex would say smth along the lines). The mindful, demure black pepper spice from the first book has been replaced with a hefty dose of chillies. I giggled, I blushed, I cried. Can't wait for the next books.

Exciting and the spice is spicing!

I like how it didn't end on a cliffhanger as I don't have a clue when the next book is out.
It's an interesting series but I do hope we see Macai is more aware of her surroundings and doesn't fall into anymore traps which she should have avoided given she knows what these people are like.
I could also do without the amount of time she keeps physically bumping into enemies because again she's not aware of her surroundings, she's meant to be what 26/27 back in her 17 year old body so I wish she would act more like it.
I hope in the next book she will organise her revenge for the people that wronged her.

Looking forward to the next book

Isla Davon is a brilliant author, and this series has me in a chokehold that I am not scared to admit makes me very excited. the audio is brilliant, too! bring in the next one.

I loved these 2 books but didn't realise it wasn't a full set. It ends on a cliffhanger and book 3 isn't out and google said it will be 4 books total. I enjoyed the narration and found the story to be very creative.

Only book 2 of 4

Disappointed. Story practically went nowhere but in circles. Dull and lacking momentum.

Once again the female lead was promoted as a strong and yet vulnerable creature, who happen to repeat herself practically on every page. There’s nothing worse than to witness events with all the characters and then having this annoying voice break it all down right up to her feelings about it. Waste of space… and an awful way to fill such.

To say the dialog between the protagonist wasn’t forthcoming, we can see why… author spend every waking moment of this book conveying how she feels & thinks about every, long before a decent back & forth, Jesus, Mary, Joseph & the donkey. Annoying the heck outta me.

Boring cliffhanger … no spark. Less excitement. All that blatherskite for what? To end up right where we started, to know more or less what we already knew coming into this book. Arghhhh ):

The idea of this story had so much potential. However … in the wrong authors hands it might as well be toilet paper.

There I’ve said it. 2 stars ⭐️ only because the idea of such story would’ve been bestseller.

Mediocre … at Best.
