Fascinating and informative

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Indeed, I did so! The book contains lots of practical information, hints and tips to live a happier life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 59 Seconds?

The instructions on how to write a diary to make oneself happy and one to start on any goal.

What about Peter Noble’s performance did you like?

It was excellent for the subject matter. Fast paced, yet clear and precise.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, after each chapter I instead wanted to go away and try what had been suggested to me.

Any additional comments?

If you've enjoyed the book as much as I did, may I recommend "Paranormality" and "The Luck Factor" as further reading?

Useful evidence based information

The content of the book is interesting and relevant but as an audiobook the barrage of names of cited authors can get annoying at times.

Just loved it!

What a great book and amazing narrator.
I just loved the book in general. One of the better self-help books which I have listened to so far.

Really interesting but…

A good book, fascinating material and very well researched. However, as much as I understand that it is important to cite references and sources, in this book the many lengthy academic journal titles, authors and other relevant citations is distracting and makes it difficult to stay with the author’s point.

Listening to the book sometimes it feels that the larger amount of what I’m listen to is just citations and references. Maybe these could have been included in the audiobook in a different way to allow the author’s main point to come across more successfully and succinctly. Perhaps in a supplementary list of footnotes and references at the end of the book?

Makes you think and smile

Great book which is read and performed brilliantly. The information is rich and probably a bit too densely packed for an audio book. However, fabulous information and will make you think and smile.

Content brilliant ..... but not for Audio.

Any additional comments?

This book in paperback would, I'm sure be excellent. However, in audio format it just does not work. Not because the content is any less interesting but because the narrator constantly makes references to books and papers where he has taken notes or extracts from.
In paperback format you can just brush pass these without taking any notice but when they are read to you, you cant. And it isnt just the odd one. Its many many times in every chapter, sometimes three very long references in a couple of minutes.
It really spoiled the listening for me. And it's not as if it couldn't be changed. It could. Instead of the author saying .....
'See G Hertingan, H Pack and K Schnetter 2001, self regulation of goal setting, turning free fantasies about the future in to binding goals' Published in the journal of personality and social psychology
Which is of no relevance to the casual listener, he could say for eg. 'See Reference 102.'
And at the end of the audio, just list all the references.

Many interesting studies but no core message

All the studies are interesting but it lacks of a core message that connects them together.
