About this listen

Traditionally attributed to the apostle John, 1 John is a very personal discourse on a variety of topics by one who had an extraordinarily intimate relationship with Christ. In this epistle, John discusses the appeal and challenges of emerging Gnostic beliefs in the early Church and the impact such beliefs have on a believer’s view of salvation. Join Logos Bible Study’s Dr. Bill Creasy as we explore this intimate epistle.

Editor reviews

In Dr. Bill Creasey's lively lecture on the First Epistle of John, the acclaimed Bible instructor begins by discussing authorship of the letter and ends by analyzing the nature of sin like a great pastor. As always Creasey builds on previous lessons from Scripture and makes each verse relatable to modern audiences, often translating archaic sentences into the vernacular.

When Creasey taught at UCLA, his course entitled "The English Bible as Literature" was one of the most popular at the university. Since he retired from classroom teaching, he has been bringing his style of rigorous study and intimate delivery to audiences all over the world with "the global classroom" of Logos Bible Study.
