About this listen
Huge, muscled, and sexy in plaid, Huck Barnett is one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever seen. Every woman in Rockhead Point wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me.
Except, after a drunken girls’ night out, instead of waking up with him in my bed, I wake up with a killer hangover and an inbox full of his texts telling me how reckless and dangerous my antics are.
Now my dad and brother want to find me a husband, and my ex-boyfriend has decided he wants the job. But I’m not looking for marriage, I’d rather have a few incredible nights with the annoying mountain hottie. Only it turns out he’s not looking for a hookup; he wants to own me.

Didn’t like it
Too Overbearing, Too controlling character. Didn’t like the middle or ending of the book. A woman would never have let this happen

Protective man
🎧 AUDIO REVIEW 🎧
BOOK 🌟🌟🌟
AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟
The voices was easy to listen to and totally matched the characters.
The book was a good story, he was a mountain man and very over protective. But he also did something that I just not sure I could forgive like she did. I get hiding something like other stories I read but this one for me was a bit far.
I loved the whole close family connection, might have to go back to book one to see how their story came about after listening to this one.

Enjoyed it
I’ve read and listened to a few mountain men books but no one does them quite like Gemma Weir now I know why they get recommended so much.

As 🔥 as the first
Book 2 is definitely as 🔥 as book 1. It is a little more dark at times from multiple characters. You see some things coming but enjoy the ride until it does. The epilogue doesn’t fast forward as much as I would hope so I’m looking forward to book 3 as we still got some glimpses into the MC of book 1 in this one.

bossy alpha
Hugh meets Cora through his brother and her friend. he became very possessive from the start. it felt like this book was more about hooking than anything. the storyline wasn't much. it could have been better. it was al one sided huck wanting to own and keep ket her.
thanks to the narrators, I kept listening, and at least they made it better.

My Thoughts on Owned by the Mountain Man
Huck was nuts. Absolutely crazy. And sometimes I’m not really sure Cora knew what she was getting herself into. But she kept taking him back. And it sure made for one seriously entertaining listen so definitely check this one out if you like over the top possessive, obsessive, caveman type leading men who are absolutely dedicated to their women and would do anything for them, except let them have a moment of space.
The narration was good on this one. Both narrators had really interesting voices. The male narrator was new for me but certainly not unpleasant and the female narrator just seemed really well suited for the character.

Very Disappointed
The sex scenes outweighed the romance and made the male character seem absolutely insane. He thought everything could be sorted with an orgasm.

Hugh & Cora
Where are these Barnett men? Overly protective, and instantaneously knowing their hearts, these men are not only great looking, but have hearts of gold. This is the second book in the Montana Mountain Men series and it features Hugh and Cora. Cora is young, recently broke up with her boyfriend and really isn't interested in finding a new relationship or getting married as her family would like. Her best friend, Bonnie moved in with Beau Barnett and now Beau's brother has taken an interest in Cora. That is putting it likely. He has an obsession with Cora, and she may find him a bit annoying with his overly possessiveness, but it's growing on her. Hugh is a bit older, so he is ready to settle down, and now he understands what happens when he finds his soulmate. He will literally do anything to keep her. But what he does may just end them. What happens? I am not telling, but I will say this spicy, over protectiveness brings that feeling of warmth over Cora, like a hug. It's impossible not to fall for and enjoy. I can't wait to see who falls next!
Curt Bonnem plays Hugh, and is is perfect for the role. He brings out the love in Hugh's heart, but adds that bit of stalker obsession in making him a bit over the top, just as he is. Avery Caris is Cora, a little more subdued, a little more hesitant, but falling fast. These two are a great team and bring the passion alive in this story.
