This is a brilliantly written dark romance, with a great plot, characters you'll love, drama, tension, love and spice. There are a few triggers but the whole story is so well written I couldn't put it down. Full of intrigue, kidnapping, undercover cop, dark romance, love, fantastic twists and a HEA.
Charlie is a rookie cop and wants to prove she deserves her badge so when there's an opportunity to go undercover to catch human traffickers she volunteers. But she has to go in deep, into the porn industry and when she meets the man who will help her learn the job, she realizes she might be a little out of her depth.
Nix has been running the porn side of his boss' businesses for a while and though it's not a nice business he's protective of the women working for him. He has a past which he keeps secret and instincts he tries to bury, but can't help his protective side coming out when he meets Charlie who's seems familiar.
But as they begin to work together Charlies finds herself getting in deeper into the dark business she's working to stop. She realises Nix is her key to get to the boss but soon finds that she's fighting for her heart and her life.
I really enjoyed this book and I enjoyed listening to it just as much, with Carla Lopez bringing the characters to life.
