The second in this series was just as good if not better than the first audiobook/story.
Nora carries on this story with just as much seemingly effortless creativity. We see the main plot line develop slowly and then hit you in the face with the impact of revealing the newest twists! She really knows how to create anticipation in a scene.
The characters were emotional and their connection built slowly, allowing readers/listeners to fall in love while they did. We get to see so much character development through each and every intimate moment between the foursome. Nora has a way with words when it comes to these intimate moments, describing how each main character has a special relationship with another, it’s not just one type of love, and each one is beautiful in itself.
John Solo does another impeccable performance with this story. John blows me away once again with more voices to add to the game. There is not one character that has the same voice as another and that’s saying something (especially as the series continues, I wasn’t joking about listening to this out of order and there are a LOT of main and side characters throughout this series.)
John is really amazing at voicing these characters, you can tell he really understands their motives, their emotions, their minds...not just their actions. This is so so important and is what differentiates between a good narrator and a great one! John puts in so much enthusiasm in each and every scene, from spicy to painful, from tender to action packed. You can tell that he enjoys the story, and that this isn’t just another job to him.
